The band formed in 2018, and took their name from Linda Linda Linda, a Japanese film. After being noticed by director Amy Poehler, they recorded the soundtrack for the film Moxie, which was released in 2021. Later that year, they released the single "Racist, Sexist Boy", which went viral. Epitaph Records signed them shortly afterwards.
In 2022, they released their debut album, Growing Up, and received mostly positive reviews.
