The game of rugby is a full body contact sport, played by two teams of players. The team in possession of the ball carry, pass, and kick the ball, with the aim of scoring points by kicking goals or making tries. The defending team endeavors to prevent the attacking team from scoring points, and to take possession of the ball from their opponents. The rules of the game are defined by the International Rugby Board, in a document entitled, "The Laws of the Game."[1]
