More notes to self: Holsteiners are only *permitted* in black, brown, bay, chestnut, and grey. All others are denied registration, as are horses with any form of mottling (excluding fleabitten greys of course) or spots larger than a dinner plate. Furthermore, chestnuts are "frowned upon."
Further-furthermore, Holsteiner dressage horses happen more or less by accident. The registry and its breeders do not select for dressage ability.
