The Australia part of the map appears to promote a fringe theory propounded by (probably Santamarian/B. A. The Average Depth in the statistics box on the upper right is listed as 4280m, but in the article it states the "mean depth is 4000m."
An unqualified reference to "mean" usually implies arithmetic mean, which is the same as average. If some other mean is meant in the article, then it should be explicitly stated, otherwise the two statement should probably use the same value.
