Starokulatkinsky District (Russian: Старокула́ткинский райо́н; Tatar: Иске Кулаткы районы) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ulyanovsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,178 square kilometers (455 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Staraya Kulatka.[1] Population: 14,731 (2010 Census);[3] 17,505 (2002 Census);[8] 19,370 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Staraya Kulatka accounts for 38.6% of the district's total population.[3]
