Sovereign Grace Churches (SGM; previously Sovereign Grace Ministries and People of Destiny International) is a group of Reformed,[2] neocharismatic,[3] evangelical and confessional Christian churches primarily located in North America.[4] It has variously been described as a family of churches,[5] a denomination,[6] and an apostolic network.[7] It has also been described as a cult, due to its unorthodox teachings, systemic control of members, and allegations of covering up child sex abuse.[8][9] As well as the North American congregations, there are also congregations in Australia, Bolivia, Ethiopia, Great Britain and Germany.[10]
