Rtishchevsky District (Russian: Рти́щевский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the thirty-eight in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,300 square kilometers (890 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Rtishchevo[2] (which is not administratively a part of the district).[7] Population: 17,383 (2010 Census);[3] 19,546 (2002 Census);[8] 21,857 (1989 Soviet census).[9]
