Rabat (Persian: ربط)[lower-alpha 1] is a city in, and the capital of, Rabat District of Sardasht County, West Azerbaijan province, Iran,[3] in the northeastern portion of the county. It served as the administrative center for Gavork-e Sardasht Rural District[4] until its capital was transferred to the village of Si Sar.[3] Rabat is on the road between Sardasht and Mahabad.
The majority of the people of Rabat speak the Mokryan accent[dubious – discuss] of Kurdish as one of their main languages alongside Persian.
