Pryazhinsky District

Pryazhinsky District (Russian: Пря́жинский райо́н; Karelian: Priäžän piiri) is an administrative district (raion), one of the fifteen in the Republic of Karelia, Russia.[1] It is located in the south of the republic. The area of the district is 6,389 square kilometers (2,467 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Pryazha.[2] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 14,664, with the population of Pryazha accounting for 25.1% of that number.[4]
