Okka Magaadu was one of the most anticipated Telugu films of 2008, but became Disaster at the box office amidst high expectations and vibe around the film at that time. This film had many similarities regarding storyline with 1996 Tamil film Indian, including character design of the protagonist. The audience heavily panned and criticised mainly for destroying the original script, film’s lengthy duration, Balakrishna's bad heroism, bad double meaning dialogues, illogical and gravity defying action sequences, poor VFX & graphics highly adult content, half-nudity, misogynist scenes, lack of logic & lack of originality. The film was a huge disaster in Balakrishna’s and Chowdary’s career and film bombed at box office and it is considered as one of the worst films in TFI.[6][7][8]
