International cricket tour From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The New Zealand men's cricket team toured the United Arab Emirates in August 2023 to play three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.[1][2] Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) announced the fixtures for the tour in March 2023.[3] The only previous time that New Zealand played against UAE was in a One Day International (ODI) match at the 1996 World Cup.[4]

New Zealand won the first T20I by 19 runs,[5] after which United Arab Emirates beat New Zealand in the second T20I.[6] It was United Arab Emirates' first international win over New Zealand and also New Zealand's first defeat against an associate team.[7] New Zealand won the last match of the series to take the series 2–1.[8]

Blair Tickner and Ben Lister were added to New Zealand's squad after the withdrawal of Henry Shipley and Lockie Ferguson due to injury and other commitments, respectively.[11] On 14 August 2023, Blair Tickner opted to skip the series due to family reasons and was replaced by Jacob Duffy.[12]
