Maria do Carmo Gerônimo
Brazilian supercentenarian and former slave (5 March 1871-14 June 2000) / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Maria do Carmo Gerônimo (1871? — 14 June 2000) was a former Brazilian slave who at the time of her death was claimed to have been the oldest person in the world. However, due to the lack of a birth certificate or any other civil document proving her year of birth, her claim was never recognised by The Guinness Book of Records. It is not disputed that she was the last surviving Brazilian slave.[1][2]
