Magas is a rural barrio with an urban area in the municipality of Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 3,436.[3][4]

Magas has 3.44 square miles (8.9 km2) of land area and no water area. In 2010, its population was 3,436 with a population density of 998.8 inhabitants per square mile (385.6/km2).[5]
Magas was in Spain's gazetteers[11] until Puerto Rico was ceded by Spain in the aftermath of the Spanish–American War under the terms of the Treaty of Paris of 1898 and became an unincorporated territory of the United States. In 1899, the United States Department of War conducted a census of Puerto Rico finding that the combined population of Magas and Playa barrios was 962.[12]
