WWE is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Stamford, Connecticut, and the world's largest promotion. As with other professional wrestling promotions, WWE promotes several championships, with titleholders typically determined via the results of professional wrestling matches within scripted storylines. On rare occasions, a championship may be awarded to or stripped from a wrestler outside of a match, though these occurrences typically also fall within scripted storylines.[lower-alpha 1]
WWE currently divides its roster between three brands. Most wrestlers compete exclusively on a single brand (with select exemptions). WWE's two primary brands are Raw and SmackDown, collectively referred to as the main roster. NXT serves as the developmental brand (although it was considered a third main brand from 2019 to 2021).[1]
There are currently 18 championships in WWE divided among the three brands. Raw has a primary, secondary, and tag team championship for male wrestlers, and a singles championship for female wrestlers. SmackDown has two primary championships (jointly held and defended as an undisputed championship), a secondary championship, and a tag team championship for male wrestlers, and a singles championship for female wrestlers. NXT features a primary, secondary, specialty, and tag team championship for male wrestlers, with a primary and secondary championship for female wrestlers. There are three titles that are shared among all three brands—two specialty singles championships (one each for male and female wrestlers), and a tag team championship for female wrestlers.
As of October 30, 2024, among the three current brands, 21 wrestlers officially hold championships (including one double champion). This list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of title victory.
The American professional wrestling promotion WWE currently divides its roster into what the company refers to as brands. Wrestlers assigned to NXT exclusively appear on the weekly television program, NXT, albeit with some exceptions, as well as the brand's supplementary online streaming program called Level Up. NXT also has its own major livestreaming events held periodically throughout the year.
There is also a weekly online program called Speed that streams exclusively on X and features wrestlers from all three brands.
For the men's division, Raw features a primary, secondary, and tag team championship, while SmackDown features two jointly held and defended primary titles (promoted as an undisputed championship) along with a secondary and tag team title. There is also an internet championship available to wrestlers from both brands as well as NXT and defended exclusively on the online program Speed.
For the women's division, each brand has a primary championship. There is also a tag team championship shared between both brands as well as NXT. There is also an internet championship that is available to wrestlers from both brands as well as NXT and defended exclusively on the online program Speed.
At the top of WWE's championship hierarchy for male wrestlers are the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw and the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown—regarded as world heavyweight championships. The World Heavyweight Championship is held by first-time champion Gunther. He defeated Damian Priest at SummerSlam on August 3, 2024.[2] The Undisputed WWE Championship is held by Cody Rhodes and consists of the WWE Championship and the WWE Universal Championship, with Rhodes being in his first reign with each title as they are jointly defended but retain their individual lineages. He won the Undisputed title by defeating Roman Reigns in a Bloodline Rules match at WrestleMania XL Night 2 on April 7, 2024.[3][4]
Secondary titles for male wrestlers include the Intercontinental Championship on Raw and the United States Championship on SmackDown. The Intercontinental Championship is held by Bron Breakker, who is in his second reign. He defeated Jey Uso on the October 21, 2024, episode of Raw.[5] The United States Championship is held by LA Knight, who is in his first reign. He defeated previous champion Logan Paul at SummerSlam on August 3, 2024.[6]
Tag team titles for male wrestlers include the World Tag Team Championship on Raw and the WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown—regarded as world tag team championships. The World Tag Team Championship is held by The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh), who are in their first reign as a team, the first reign for McDonagh and third for Bálor individually. They won the title by defeating Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) on Raw on June 24, 2024.[7] The WWE Tag Team Championship is held by first-time champions The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin). They defeated The Bloodline (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) on the October 25, 2024, episode of SmackDown.[8]
A specialty title, the WWE Speed Championship, is an internet championship available to male wrestlers from all three brands. This title has a stipulation where matches have a five-minute time limit and stream exclusively on WWE's online show Speed. It is held by SmackDown's Andrade, who defeated Raw's Ricochet during the Speed tapings on June 7, 2024,[9] which aired on tape delay on June 14.[10]
At the top of WWE's championship hierarchy for female wrestlers are the Women's World Championship on Raw and the WWE Women's Championship on SmackDown—regarded as women's world championships. The Women's World Championship is held by two-time champion Liv Morgan, who won the title by defeating Becky Lynch at King and Queen of the Ring on May 25, 2024.[11] The WWE Women's Championship is held by two-time champion Nia Jax, who defeated Bayley at SummerSlam on August 3, 2024.[12]
The women's tag team championship is the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, which is shared between Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. It is held by Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill from SmackDown, who are in their record-tying second reign as a team and the second reign for each individually. They won the title by defeating The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) at Bash in Berlin on August 31, 2024.[13]
A specialty title, the WWE Women's Speed Championship, is an internet championship which is available to female wrestlers from all three brands. This title has a stipulation where matches have a five-minute time limit and stream exclusively on WWE's online show Speed. The title is held by Candice LeRae from SmackDown, who defeated Raw's Iyo Sky in a tournament final to become the inaugural champion during the Speed tapings on October 4, 2024,[14] which aired on tape delay on October 9.[15]
For the men's division, NXT features a primary, secondary, specialty, and tag team championship. There is also another specialty championship which is shared with Raw and SmackDown (listed above).
The women's division has a primary and secondary championship, and shares a specialty championship and a tag team championship with Raw and SmackDown (both listed above).
Men
The top title for male wrestlers is the NXT Championship. It is held by two-time champion Trick Williams, who defeated Ethan Page with CM Punk as the special guest referee on the October 1, 2024, episode of NXT, which was the show's debut on The CW.[16]
The secondary championship for male wrestlers is the NXT North American Championship. It is held by first-time champion Tony D'Angelo, who defeated Oba Femi on the October 8, 2024, episode of NXT. [17]
The specialty championship for men is the NXT Heritage Cup, where all matches are contested under British Rounds Rules. It is held by two-time champion Charlie Dempsey, who defeated Tony D'Angelo by 2–1 on the August 13, 2024, episode of NXT.[18]
The men's tag team championship is the NXT Tag Team Championship. It is held by Nathan Frazer and Axiom, who are in their second reign, both as a team and individually. They won the title by defeating Chase U (Andre Chase and Ridge Holland) at No Mercy on September 1, 2024.[19]
Women
The top title for female wrestlers is the NXT Women's Championship. It is held by record-tying two-time champion Roxanne Perez. She won the title by defeating Lyra Valkyria at Stand & Deliver on April 6, 2024.[20]
The secondary women's title is the NXT Women's North American Championship. It is held by first-time champion Fallon Henley. She defeated Kelani Jordan in a Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal: Spinner's Choice Gauntlet match that also featured Henley's Fatal Influence stablemates, Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jayne, at Halloween Havoc on October 27, 2024.[21]
