Kuhdasht-e Sharqi Rural District (Persian: دهستان كوهدشت شرق),[3][lower-alpha 1] is in the Central District of Miandorud County, Mazandaran province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Jam Khaneh, transferred from Surak.[4]

In December 2009, Miandorud District was separated from Sari County in the establishment of Miandorud County, which was divided into two districts and five rural districts, with Surak as its capital and only city.[4]
There were 10,563 inhabitants in 3,109 households at the National Census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 10,236 in 3,313 households. The most populous of its 21 villages was Jam Khaneh, with 5,173 people.[2]
