The Karisaka Tunnel is a Japanese toll tunnel that opened April 23, 1998 between Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture and Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Until this tunnel opened, there was no direct road connection between Saitama and Yamanashi prefectures.[1]
