John Sterling (né Sloss;[2] born July 4, 1938)[3][4] is an American retired sportscaster, best known as the radio play-by-play announcer of the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball from 1989 to 2024. Sterling called 5,060 consecutive Yankees games from 1989 to 2019. He retired from broadcasting on April 15, 2024.[1]
