Jody Gilbert (March 18, 1916 – February 3, 1979) was an American actress.

Gilbert was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She studied voice and acting at Columbia University, and she was a graduate of Pasadena Playhouse.[1]
One of her best-known early roles was in Never Give a Sucker an Even Break (1941), playing a sarcastic diner waitress who has a verbal duel with W.C. Fields. She appeared in numerous roles in the movies, radio and television, often in supporting roles as "sizeable" but confident women.[2]
Gilbert died from complications arising from an auto accident from the previous autumn.[1]
