Hiranai (Japanese: 平内町, Hepburn: Hiranai-machi) (Ainu: ピラナィ, romanized: piranay) is a town located in Aomori Prefecture, Japan and a part of the Aomori metropolitan area.[3] As of 1 December 2023[update], the town had an estimated population of 9,967 in 4,775 households,[4] and a population density of 46 persons per km². It is the most heavily populated town in Higashitsugaru District. The total area of the town is 217.09 km2 (83.82 sq mi).
