Feather mite

Feather mites are the members of diverse mite superfamilies:

• superorder Acariformes

    • Pterolichoidea
• superorder Parasitiformes
  • Dermanyssoidea

Dermanyssus gallinae

They are ectoparasites on birds, hence the common name.
