The Eighteen Stairs is one of the five traditional style districts in Chongqing, located in the south of Yuzhong District, also referring to the Eighteen Stairs road itself, which is situated in the traditional style district.

Zhongxing Road borders the Eighteen Stairs Traditional Style District and Jiaochangkou in the north, and West Jiefang Road in the south, with a total area of 188,800 square meters (including 38,900 square meters of core protection area, 71,700 square meters of construction control area and 78,200 square meters of style coordination area). The building area is about 161,000 square meters,[1] including five plots from A to E. There are four functional zones:[2] Traditional Culture Experience Zone (A, B), National Tide Cultural and Creative Experience Zone (C), International Exchange Center (D), Lifestyle Center (E), and two landscape zones:[3] North-South Landscape Zone and East-West Tourism Expansion Zone. A B C Zones will open to the public on September 30, 2021.[1]
The Eighteenth Stairs Road is a section of over 200 steps of green stone stairs about 400 meters long. It connects Chongqing's upper half with the city's lower half from north to south.[4]
