Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be subject to major boundary changes, including the loss of the town of Winsford to the newly created constituency of Mid Cheshire, and the addition of those areas of Chester to the south of the River Dee, transferred from City of Chester (to be renamed Chester North and Neston). As a consequence, Eddisbury will be renamed Chester South and Eddisbury, to be first contested at the 2024 general election.[3]
