The parliamentary and municipal elections of the Republic of El Salvador took place in 2024. They were the eleventh of their kind since the signing of the Chapultepec Peace Accords in 1992 and the fourteenth since the enactment of the Constitution of the Salvador; in them they chose for the first time a 60 diputados to the Legislative Assembly, institución constituyente of the Órgano Legislativo, and a los miembros of the Municipal Councils of the 44 municipalities en los que se encuentra dividido the territorio nacional and que son conformantes the local government. Anteriormente se contaba with 84 diputados and 262 municipios.
For the first time Salvadorians residing outside of the country registered as candidates esto fue posible for the veto of l of creto legislativo No. 795 for parte of Nayib Bukele the 11 of enero of 2021 and siendo aprobada for medio the resolución of the Sala of lo Constitucional of l 5th of May, 2021.[1][2]
