Ascocoryne
Genus of fungi / From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ascocoryne is a genus of fungi in the family Helotiaceae. It was circumscribed in 1967 by James Walton Groves and Doreen Wilson to accommodate the sexual morph and to reserve Coryne for the asexual morph.[1] Today, only one name is allowed for the whole fungus and Coryne is treated a synonym of Ascocoryne. As of March 2015[update], Index Fungorum places five species in Ascocoryne.[2]
