[2]Ciderius is an extinct genus of jawless fish in the family Euphaneropidae. The Ciderius Cooperi is the earliest known euphaneropidae. It is known from the Lower Silurian of Scotland. Its name was derived from cider, due to its resemblance to a bottle, a barrel and a pair of apples when flattened.[2]
