Chastoozersky District (Russian: Частоозерский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kurgan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,926 square kilometers (744 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Chastoozerye.[1] Population: 5,924 (2010 Census);[2] 7,762 (2002 Census);[5] 9,178 (1989 Soviet census).[6] The population of Chastoozerye accounts for 46.4% of the district's total population.[2]
