Behshahr (Persian: بِهْشَهْر)[lower-alpha 1] is a city in the Central District of Behshahr County, Mazandaran province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[6] It is located at the foot of the Alborz mountains, approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) east of Sari and 80 kilometres (50 mi) west of Gorgan.
