Soldiers from the Goražde Brigade already had suffered heavy losses, losing territory, soldiers and being forced to retreat on the hill. As this was an important factor for the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) and could lead to fall of Višegrad, they kept attacking. At the moment when the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) was about to retreat, the Russians arrived and started defending the hill.[1][2]
