Bangui is a prefecture in the Central African Republic. The prefecture has an estimated population of 1,425,276 in 2022 and an area of 3,260 km2.[1][2] Bangui is the capital of the prefecture.

On 10 December 2020, Bangui Prefecture was created. Two communes that were previously part of Ombella-M'Poko, Begoua and Bimbo, were transferred to Bangui Prefecture.[3]
