Balistes polylepis, or finescale triggerfish, is a species of fish. It is found in the Pacific Coast of the Americas from northern California southwards to central Chile, including the offshore islands (e.g., the Galapagos). It has also been recorded from Hawaii[1][2] (vagrant, but possibly getting established) and once from the Marquesas Islands.[1]

Balistes polylepis can grow to 76 cm (30 in) total length, but more commonly to 50 cm (20 in).[2]
