The CDP is within the Rio Grande City Grulla Independent School District (formerly Rio Grande City Consolidated Independent School District).[3]
B and E first appeared as a census designated place in the 2010 U.S. Census, one of two CDPs (along with Garza-Salinas II) carved out from parts of the La Puerta CDP.[16]
