Austin Lane

Austin A. Lane is a college official and former college president in the United States. In 2020 he was appointed Chancellor of Southern Illinois University.[1]

He was born in New Jersey and graduated from Hackensack High School. He graduated from Langston University. He was Executive Vice Chancellor of Lone Star College in 2015.[2]
He served as president of Texas Southern University (TSU), succeeding John M. Rudley.[2][3] He departed after controversy over an admissions scandal at its law school and questions over entertainment spending from a foundation connected to the university.[4]
He and his wife Loren Lane have three children.[5]
