Ali Tanrıyar was born in Ottoman Greece in 1914. He emigrated with his family, and settled in Kırkağaç district of Manisa Province, Turkey.[1]
He was married with one child, two grandchildren, and celebrated his 100th birthday in 2014.[2] Tanrıyar was the brother-in-law of former Turkish prime minister and president Turgut Özal.
