The 2024–25 Copa del Rey will be the 123rd staging of the Copa del Rey (including two seasons where two rival editions were played). The winners are assured a place in the 2025–26 UEFA Europa League league phase. Both the winners and the runners-up will qualify for the four-team 2026 Supercopa de España.
As across Spain, match times up to 26 October 2024 and from 30 March 2025 were CEST (UTC+2). Times on interim ("winter") days were CET (UTC+1). Matches played in the Canary Islands used the WET (UTC±00:00).
In the summer of 2023, the RFEF released the calendar of the competition and confirmed the format of the previous season would remain.[citation needed]

Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona, Mallorca and Real Madrid will join the tournament in the round of 32 as participants of the Supercopa de España.
Deportivo La Coruña will join the tournament in the second round as champions of the 2023–24 Primera Federación.
Fútbol Playa Badajoz qualified to the competition as the champions of the Copa Extremadura in June,[9] but lost their spot after not registering in any competition due to debts in July.[10]
Draw
Teams were divided into four groups according to geographical criteria.[21]
The first round will be played by 110 of the 115 qualified teams, with the exceptions being the four participants of the 2025 Supercopa de España, and the Primera RFEF champions. The ten winners from the previous preliminary round will be paired with ten teams from La Liga. The four Copa Federación semi-finalists will be drawn with the other four teams from La Liga, and the last two La Liga teams will be drawn with two teams from the Tercera RFEF. Six teams from the Tercera RFEF will be paired with six teams from the Segunda División. Fifteen teams from Segunda RFEF will be paired with fifteen teams from the Segunda División. Then, sixteen teams from the Segunda RFEF will be paired with sixteen teams from the Primera RFEF. Finally, four teams from Segunda RFEF will be paired with each other.
A total of 55 matches will be played between 29 October and 31 October 2024.
Draw
The draw for the first round will be held on 10 October 2024. Teams will be divided into seven pots.[22]
Villamuriel did not play the match in their main stadium Municipal Rafael Vázquez Sedano, Villamuriel de Cerrato, as it did not meet the broadcasting requirements.[23]
