A record six quarterbacks were selected in the first round — Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix Jr., J. J. McCarthy, and Bo Nix — tying the amount from 1983. The six quarterbacks were within the first 12 picks, with five in the top 10. Conversely, for the first time since the 1970 AFL–NFL merger, no quarterback would be selected in the second through fourth rounds.[2] Along with the quarterbacks, a record 23 offensive players were selected in the first round, including 14 consecutive to start the draft.[2][3][4]
