On April 5, 2024, the Lightning clinched a playoff spot for the seventh consecutive season after losses by the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals.[2] They were eliminated in the first round by their in-state and division rival, Florida Panthers in five games.
