- 13 May – Ezer Weizman assumes office as the seventh president of the State of Israel.
- 15 May – Lehakat Shiru represents Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Shiru” ("Sing").[1]
- July – The 1993 Maccabiah Games are held.
