The 1865 Mississippi gubernatorial election was held on October 2, 1865, to elect the governor of Mississippi. Benjamin Humphreys won against Ephraim S. Fisher and William S. Patton. The election was officially nonpartisan to replace the outgoing Provisional Governor William Sharkey, though Humphreys was a Democrat and Fisher and Patton were both formerly Whigs.[1]
