Το Μπάρντο (πολωνικά: Bardo, γερμανικά: Wartha) είναι ιστορική πόλη του Πόβιατ Ζομπκοβίτσε, στο Βοεβοδάτο Κάτω Σιλεσίας της νοτιοδυτικής Πολωνίας. Είναι η διοικητική έδρα της Γκμίνα Μπάρντο. Ο πληθυσμός του είναι 2.466 κάτοικοι (2020).[3]

Το Μπάρντο βρίσκεται στον ποταμό Ανατολικός Νάισσε, που ρέει από την Κοιλάδα Κουότσκο προς τις πεδιάδες της Σιλεσίας. Βρίσκεται περίπου 10 χιλιόμετρα νοτιοδυτικά του Ζομπκοβίτσε Σλόνσκιε και 72 χιλιόμετρα νότια της πρωτεύουσας του βοεβοδάτου, Βρότσουαφ.
Η πόλη είναι ευρέως γνωστός τόπος προσκυνήματος και λατρείας της Παναγίας.
Το Μπάρντο ιδρύθηκε τον 10ο αιώνα ως πολωνικό αμυντικό γκορντ σε μια μεσαιωνική εμπορική οδό από την Πράγα παράλληλα με τα Σουδητικά Όρη μέσω του Κουότσκο προς το Βρότσουαφ και το Γκνιέζνο. Η γύρω περιοχή κατοικήθηκε από λεχιτικές φυλές και έγινε μέρος του αναδυόμενου Πολωνικού Κράτους τον 10ο αιώνα, υπό τον πρώτο ιστορικό ηγεμόνα, Μιέσκο Α΄ της Πολωνίας. Οι καστελάνοι του Μπάρντο ήταν Πολωνοί ιππότες. Εξασφάλισαν τα νότια σύνορα των εδαφών της Κάτω Σιλεσίας με την γειτονική Γη του Κουότσκο στη Βοημία.
Το 1096, ο Δούκας Μπρετίσλαφ Β΄ της Βοημίας κατέλαβε και κατέστρεψε το φρούριο, ωστόσο το 1137 επέστρεψε στην Πολωνία. Το επόμενο έτος, λόγω του κατακερματισμού της Πολωνίας, το Μπάρντο έγινε μέρος του πολωνικού Δουκάτου της Σιλεσίας. Από το 1278 ανήκε στο Δουκάτο του Γιάβορ υπό τον Πιαστ δούκα Μπόλκο Α΄ τον Αυστηρό και από το 1321 στο Δουκάτο του Ζιενμπίτσε υπό τον Δούκα Μπόλκο Β΄ του Ζιενμπίτσε. Με το Ζιενμπίτσε, το Μπάρντο καταλήφθηκε από το Βασίλειο της Βοημίας το 1336, ωστόσο, παρέμεινε υπό την κυριαρχία των ντόπιων Πολωνών δούκων της δυναστείας των Πιαστ μέχρι το 1428. Το παρεκκλήσι του χτίστηκε τον 10ο αιώνα και αναφέρθηκε για πρώτη φορά το 1189 πως παραχωρήθηκε στους Οσπιτάλιους Ιππότες από τους Επισκόπους του Βρότσουαφ. Το 1210, πέρασε στους μοναχούς στο Αβαείο του Καμιένιετς Ζονμπκοβίτσκι. Μέχρι το 1290, το γκορντ είχε χάσει τη στρατηγική του σημασία και έπαψε να υπάρχει ως καστελλάνο. Το 1299, ολόκληρη η περιοχή αγοράστηκε από το Τάγμα των Κιστερκιανών και ανήκε σε αυτούς μέχρι το 1810. Η εικόνα της Παναγίας χρονολογείται από τον 13ο αιώνα, πιθανώς η παλαιότερη στη Σιλεσία. Η μπαρόκ εκκλησία προσκυνήματος ανεγέρθηκε μεταξύ 1686 και 1704. Το ιερό επισκέφθηκε δύο φορές ο μελλοντικός πάπας, Ιωάννης Παύλος Β΄, το 1957 και το 1978.[4] Το 1981, ένα μνημείο του Πάπα Ιωάννη Παύλου Β΄ αποκαλύφθηκε στο Μπάρντο, ως το δεύτερο στην Πολωνία μετά την Κρακοβία.[5]
Μετά τον Πρώτο Σιλεσιακό Πόλεμο, το Μπάρντο μαζί με το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της Σιλεσίας προσαρτήθηκε από την Πρωσία το 1742. Από το 1871 έως το 1945, ήταν μέρος της Γερμανίας και μετά την ήττα της Ναζιστικής Γερμανίας στον Β΄ Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο έγινε και πάλι μέρος της Πολωνίας υπό τις αλλαγές στα σύνορα που ανακοινώθηκαν στη Διάσκεψη του Πότσδαμ. Επίσης, σύμφωνα με τη συμφωνία, ο γερμανικός πληθυσμός εκδιώχθηκε και το Μπάρντο ξανακατοικήθηκε από Πολωνούς, οι περισσότεροι από τους οποίους εκδιώχθηκαν οι ίδιοι από την πρώην ανατολική Πολωνία που προσαρτήθηκε από τη Σοβιετική Ένωση. Το 1949–1950, Έλληνες και Σλαβομακεδόνες, πρόσφυγες του Ελληνικού Εμφυλίου Πολέμου, έγιναν δεκτοί προσωρινά στο Μπάρντο, πριν βρεθούν νέα σπίτια για αυτούς σε άλλες πόλεις. [6]
Το Μπάρντο είχε αποκτήσει το καθεστώς της πόλης στις αρχές του 14ου αιώνα, αλλά αυτό χάθηκε ως αποτέλεσμα της καταστροφής που προκάλεσε ο Β΄ Παγκόσμιος Πόλεμος. Έγινε έδρα μιας γκμίνα το 1954 και έλαβε το καθεστώς της πόλης ξανά το 1969.
