Jegdalek war vor seiner politischen Karriere Ringer.[2]
Er trat die Nachfolge des, am 8. Oktober 2010 bei einem Sprengstoffanschlag ums Leben gekommenen Mohammad Omar[3] als Gouverneur der Provinz Kundus an.[1]
