Náměstí T. G. Masaryka v Prostějově leží uprostřed města a jedná se o nejstarší prostějovské náměstí. Při prvním pojmenování roku 1881 dostalo název Dolní náměstí. Roku 1893 bylo na počest panovníka přejmenováno na náměstí Františka Josefa, roku 1918 neslo název Wilsonovo, podle amerického prezidenta Woodrowa Wilsona. K výročí založení republiky roku 1928 bylo přejmenováno na Masarykovo, v roce 1940 na Hlavní nám. a o pět let později opět na Masarykovo. V padesátých letech, po odstranění sochy Tomáše Garrigue Masaryka se jmenovalo náměstí 9. května, v prosinci 1989 po Sametové revoluci, dostalo své současné jméno. V domě č. 13 se narodil jezuitský misionář Jindřich Václav Richter, v domě č. 22 básník Jiří Wolker a v domě č. 28 rakousko-uherský ministr Jan Nepomuk Berger.[1]
