En febreru de 2004, la revista Forbes indicó que la fortuna de Rowling yera de 576 millones de llibres esterlines, convirtiéndose na primer persona en facese millonaria escribiendo llibros. Ye la muyer más rica del Reinu Xuníu, y muncho más rica que la Reina Sabela II.
La escritora algamó'l Premiu Príncipe d'Asturies de la Concordia nel añu 2003.
