Nacíu Bloomington (Indiana, EE. XX.). Miller foi una estrella de baloncestu de la UCLA, onde'l so padre yera un instructor d'educación física. Nel so últimu añu, mientres trabayaba con una compañía de mudances pa pagar la escuela, afayóse en Sunset Boulevard por un axente de Hollywood. Ye conocíu por interpretar a Tarzan na película Tarzan, the Ape Man 1959. Tamién co-protagonizó los films: The Party 1968 con Peter Sellers, Buck and the Preacher 1972, The Norseman 1978, Caboblanco 1980 con Charles Bronson. La so última actuación foi nel western, "Hell to Pay" 2005.
Miller interpretó ente 1961-64, el papel de Duke Shannon na serie de televisión: Wagon Train. Tamién protagonizó la serie: Mona McCluskey, nel papel de Mike McCluskey. Como actor invitáu pasó por The Fugitive, Gilligan's Island, Mission: Impossible, Wonder Woman, Battlestar Galactica, The Rockford Files, The Incredible Hulk, The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo, Dallas, Magnum, P.I., y munches más.
