উভকামিতা (ইংৰাজী: Bisexuality) মানে হল একে বা বিপৰীত দুয়ো লিংগৰ ব্যক্তিৰ প্ৰতি প্ৰেম, আৱেগ, শাৰীৰিক আৰু যৌন আকৰ্ষণ। [1][2][3]
উভকামিতা শব্দটো নাৰী আৰু পুৰুষ উভয়ৰ প্ৰতি যৌন বা প্ৰেম আৰু আৱেগিক অনুভূতি নিৰ্দেশক মানৱ আকৰ্ষণক বুজাবলৈ ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয়। কিন্তু প্ৰায় ক্ষেত্ৰত কোনোবা এটা লিংগৰ প্ৰতি অধিক আকৰ্ষণ থাকে আৰু আনটো লিংগৰ প্ৰতি কম আকৰ্ষণ থকা দেখা যায়।[1][2][3] এই ধাৰণামতে বিপৰীতকামিতা আৰু সমকামিতাৰ লগত উভকামিতা যৌন অভিমুখিতাৰ প্ৰধান তিনিটা ভাগৰ অন্যতম। ই সমান্তৰাল যৌনপ্ৰবৃত্তিৰ অংশ। উল্লেখযোগ্য যে যিসকল ব্যক্তি নাৰী বা পুৰুষ কোনো লিংগৰ প্ৰতিয়ে যৌন আকৰ্ষণবোধ নকৰে, তেওঁলোকক নিষ্কামী বোলা হয়।[4] উভকামী যৌন পৰিচয়ত উভয় লিংগৰ প্ৰতি সমান যৌন আকৰ্ষণবোধৰ প্ৰয়োজন নপৰে। সাধাৰণভাবে যিসকলে এটা লিংগতকৈ আনটো লিংগৰ প্ৰতি অধিক যৌন পছন্দনীয়তা আছে তেওঁলোকে নিজক উভকামী হিচাপে চিহ্নিত কৰে।[5]
মানৱ সভ্যতাৰ বিভিন্ন সমাজ ব্যৱস্থায়ত[6] আৰু প্ৰাণীৰাজ্যত উভকামিতাৰ উপস্থিতি লক্ষ্য কৰিব পাৰি। কিন্তু Heterosexuality আৰু Homosexuality শব্দ দুটাৰ নিচিনা Bisexuality শব্দটো মূলত ঊনবিংশ শতিকাৰ পৰা ব্যৱহৃত হয়।[7]
মনোবিজ্ঞানী চিগমুণ্ড ফ্ৰয়েড বিশ্বাস কৰে যে "পৃথিৱীৰ সকলো মানুহেই আচলতে উভকামী... আৰু তেওঁলোক দুই লিংগৰ পৰিসীমাত আৱদ্ধ...। "[8] ১৯৪০ চনত বিজ্ঞানী ছান্দৰ ৰাড'য়ে আৰু তেওঁক দেখি আন বহুতো বিজ্ঞানীয়ে মনোবিশ্লেষক ফ্ৰয়েডৰ জন্মগত উভকামিতাৰ মতবাদক প্ৰত্যাখ্যান কৰে। তেওঁ দাবী কৰে যে, মানুহৰ কোনো জৈৱিক উভকামিতা নাই।[9] বৰ্তমানে সমকামিতাৰ লগতে উভকামিতাৰো কোনো কাৰণ স্পষ্টকৈ জানিবলৈ পোৱা হোৱা নাই। কিন্তু মনোবিজ্ঞানী সকলৰ মতে ই সম্পূৰ্ণ স্বাভাৱিক।
কিন্সে স্কেল
বিংশ শতিকাৰ মাজ ভাগত বিজ্ঞানী আলফ্ৰেড কিন্সে মানৱ যৌনতা সংক্ৰান্ত এটি সমীক্ষা চলায়। সেই সমীক্ষাৰ পৰা জানা যায় যে অনেক ব্যক্তি বিপৰীতকামী বা সমকামী শ্ৰেণীবিভাজনৰ আওতাভুক্ত নহয়। বৰং তেওঁলোকৰ যৌন অৱস্থান এই দুই শ্ৰেণীৰ মাজত।[10] কিন্সে স্কেল অনুসৰি যৌন আকৰ্ষণ আৰু আচৰণ স্কেলটিত ০ (একান্ত বিপৰীতকামী)ৰ পৰা ৬ (একান্ত সমকামী) সাতটা দাগ বিদ্যমান। কিন্সেৰ গৱেষণা অনুযায়ী, অধিকাংশ মানুহ এই স্কেলত ১ৰ পৰা ৫ (অৰ্থাৎ, বিপৰীতকামীৰ পৰা সমকামী) দাগৰ মাজত পৰে। কিন্সেৰ পদ্ধতি সমালোচিত হলেও মানৱ যৌনতাৱ অনৱচ্ছেদ ব্যৱস্থাত এই পদ্ধতিৰ ব্যাপক প্ৰয়োগ হৈছে। উভকামী সকলে সমকামী আৰু বিষমকামী – এই দুই ভাগৰ পৰাই বঞ্চনাৰ পাত্ৰ হয়। বিষমকামী আৰু সমকামীৰ বদ্ধমূল ধাৰণা যে বিপৰীতকামিতাৰ বাদে 'সমান্তৰাল যৌনপ্ৰবৃত্তি' বা বিপৰীতকামী-সমকামী অনৱচ্ছেদ বুলিলে কেৱল সমকামিতাকেই বুজায়। বেংগালুৰুৰ 'পিপলছ ইউনিয়ন অৱ চিভিল লিৱাৰটি'ৰ ক্ষেত্ৰ-সমীক্ষাৰ পৰা দেখা গৈছে যে সমকামীসকলে উভকামীসকলক কেৱল প্ৰত্যাখ্যানই নকৰে, ঘৃণাও কৰে।[11] ইয়াৰ ফলত সংখ্যালঘু যৌন প্ৰবৃত্তিৰ সদস্য সকলৰ মাজতো উভকামী সকলে প্ৰান্তিক হিচাপে চিহ্নিত হয়।[12]
