Mohammad ibn Saoed (Arabies: محمد بن سعود; oorlede 1765), ook bekend as Ibn Saoed, was die emir van Dirija en word beskou as die stigter van die Eerste Saoediese Staat en die Huis van Saoed. Die huis is tegnies na sy pa, Saoed ibn Mohammad ibn Moeqrin, genoem.[1]

Ibn Saoed se familie kan teruggespoor word na die stamme Banoe Aoedi en Hanifa, maar ondanks wanopvattings was Mohammad ibn Saoed nie ’n nomadiese bedoeïen of ’n stamhoof nie. Hy was die hoof (emir) van ’n landbounedersetting naby die hedendaagse Riaad met die naam Dirija.[2] Hy was ook ’n vaardige en ambisieuse vegter.[2]
Terwyl hy onder die heerskappy van die Ottomaanse Ryk was, was Ibn Saoed die stigter van wat later as die Eerste Saoediese Staat bekend geword het. Die manier waarop hy sy regering – wat op Islamitiese beginsels gebaseer was – saamgestel het, dien vandag nog as model vir die heersers van die Huis van Saoed. Hy het tot met sy dood in 1765 regeer.[3][4] Hy is as emir opgevolg deur sy seun, Abdoel Aziz bin Mohammad.
