Die Barbertonse bergsuikerbos (Protea comptonii) is 'n blomdraende boom wat aan die bekende Protea genus behoort. Die plant is inheems in Mpumalanga, Eswatini en die Drakensberg-eskarp in KwaZulu-Natal. Die boom word 4-8 m hoog, die kruin is gerond en oop. Die stam word tot 500 mm in deursnee. Die boom se bas is grys, kurkagtig en word tot 200 mm dik.
