Wei-Yin Chen[2] (Chinese: 陳偉殷; pinyin: Chén Wěiyīn; born July 21, 1985) is a Taiwanese professional baseball pitcher for the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins, and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Chunichi Dragons, Chiba Lotte Marines and Hanshin Tigers. Because Chen was released from his guaranteed contract a few months before the 2020 MLB season was delayed due to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, Chen was the highest-paid baseball player that year at $22 million.[3]
