Celestine is a mineral consisting of strontium sulfate ( SrSO4). It is named for its occasional delicate blue color. Celestine and the carbonate mineral strontianite are the principal sources of the element strontium, commonly used in fireworks and in various metal alloys. The mineral occurs as crystals, and also in compact massive, and fibrous forms. It is found worldwide, mostly found in sedimentary rocks, usually in small quantities. Pale blue crystal specimens, as shown in this photograph, are found in Madagascar. Photograph credit: Ivar Leidus

I'm here because I want to be here. Why else?
My main reason for creating this fabulous user page, and for joining the Wikipedia community is because of school. This year, my AP Biology Class has been assigned the seemingly impossible task of promoting a stub article to good article or (hopefully) featured article status. In groups of three, we will select an article and edit it to improve it's quality.

Hmm, what can I say about myself? First, what you probably know just from looking at this page, I have a slight knowledge of html, photo editing, and computers in general. You could say technology is an interest of mine, however it is not the only thing I do. I am also very interested in music. I play many instruments, but mainly the horn and piano. I actually enjoy marching band, something not many people can say. I look forward to band everyday, and spend most of my free time working on something related to it. Basically, am the stereotypical "band geek," but I prefer to think of myself as a musically inclined individual.

Rationale: We chose this to differ from others in our class. This seems to be a very interesting medical condition, and not much is known about it. There is no recent activity on the article or talk pages. Our group is interested in the field of medicine as well. |
