Not to be confused with Special Action Force.
The Special Action Forces (Spanish: Fuerzas de Acciones Especiales de la Policía Nacional Bolivariana, FAES) is an elite command of the Venezuelan National Police created in April 2016.[2][3] By 2019, it had around 1,300 officers.[4] The FAES includes the Unidad de Operaciones Tácticas Especiales (UOTE) a police tactical unit.[5] The FAES have been accused of being a political instrument of Nicolás Maduro,[2] as well as being a death squad and of repressing the opposition.[6][7][8]
