Spassky District (Russian: Спа́сский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,684 square kilometers (1,036 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Spassk-Ryazansky.[2] Population: 30,388 (2010 Census);[3] 34,024 (2002 Census);[6] 41,458 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Spassk-Ryazansky accounts for 25.5% of the district's total population.[3]
